There are a number of on-line sites that provide information about tide times, which like the weather influences when we can open the beach for car parking. Cars no longer have access to drive up and down the beach, but the council opens a controlled car park on the beach in the season and busy weekends. All vehicles are confided to this area and only authorised vehicles are allowed access to other parts of the beach.
Well behaved dogs are allowed on certain areas of the beach and at busy times must be on a lead. Signs show the areas where dogs are allowed and are excluded from the central area of the beach which is dog and car free. This area between the main slip and Beach Hotel slip is referred to as the bathing beach and is closely monitored by the life guards in season. Do not cross this area with your dogs to gain access to the dog allowed areas, walk along the promenade and use the appropriate slip.
Please clean up immediately after your dog. The beach is monitored by the county council and it is an offence to not pick up after your dog. You could incur an on the spot fine.
While Pendine Community Council owns a section of the beach at the village end and to the west, the Ministry of Defence (Qinetiq) own the majority to the east. This area is usual closed to the public from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm on weekdays but normally is open at a weekend. Certain parts of the council beach will be closed to the public when we are staging events or the beach is being used for filming.
Please note that you cannot launch a boat or jet ski at Pendine unless you are a member of a local club. Access for land sailing is also limited to club members.
